The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed! “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” ~Maria Robertson
As life long residents of California, our family relocates with my husband's job. We now find ourselves living the good life in beautiful Colorado with our two children, two chihuahuas, and a feline friend!
I am a 'forty something' mom of two, former 3rd grade teacher, and lover of all things apples and chocolate!
Since childhood, I have always felt keenly aware of how short life is, and how we need to savor every day fully. The past few years have made me appreciate this fact all the more. Having been diagnosed with melanoma a few years ago, (I am currently skin cancer free!) experiencing my dad's unexpected passing, and my mom's recent passing after a year long battle with brain cancer, I am even more appreciative of each day we are given.
Live well today, and savor every moment! (That includes eating the chocolate!) Ü
Here is a photo Kyle took of us before leaving for Tom's company Christmas party tonight. After 19 years of marriage, we are looking just a bit older than we did back in 1988!

Hey Denise sorry we never got together before you moved to Colorado. Your home is beautiful, so too are the kids, and you and Tom look wonderful as well. Reading your comments brings back fond memories of our three years in Colorado. The pure joy of the first snow days for the kids, the pristine stillness of the morning after a fresh snow, and the beauty of the mountains. Glad you are happy though I understand what it is to miss loved ones and friends left behind and to wish everyone could experience the joys of living in Colorado. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and all the best in 2008! Remembering you fondly. Love, Jan and the Riehle's (PS: Did you know Patrick goes to Regis University in Denver? He is a junior here is his cell phone number: 303-829-9388) Kate is a senior at Carondelet and hopes to be accepted at Notre Dame. We would love to hear from you!
