The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

The pony that went to the hospital...

Tom and Ashlyn stopped by the hospital to see my mom this afternoon, and they brought Ashlyn's beloved, "Butterscotch" pony to show her. My mom missed the entire Christmas holiday with her surgery, procedures, etc...so Ashlyn was anxious to show her what Santa brought. (Little does Ashlyn know, that although Santa got credit for this pony, my mom was the secret elf!) Knowing that this may be her last Christmas with us, makes this gift even more bittersweet. Fortunately, my mom's personality is still all her own, despite damage that this aggressive tumor has caused. She was delighted to see Ashlyn so happy, and was excited that nurses and doctors alike, came in to see the pony that went to the hospital!
