The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Health Update

The past few days have been rough for my mom as she had become increasingly weak. Fortunately, her friend Nancy and my sister in law Shellie were with her yesterday, and knew that action needed to be taken. Shellie stayed with my mom last night and first thing this morning took her in to see her doctor.

We had been concerned as the cardiologist from Colorado had called her in California to let her know that the last test they ran, indicated that the fluid around her heart had returned. This has still not been resolved.

Today's blood work showed that my mom's blood counts were abnormally low. Due to this, she is currently admitted into the hospital, undergoing a blood transfusion. This will take all night to complete, so she will stay in the hospital until the procedure is complete.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that these issues can be resolved. She is scheduled to begin her second round of chemotherapy on Monday. We will keep you updated.

Again, thank you for all your support and concern.

Oh, your poor Mom! Of course we will be praying for her as she goes through her Blood Transfusion and as she starts another round of Chemotherapy on Monday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Hang in there Denise, your Mom's in good hands in Red Bluff.
