The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Ashlyn the aspiring writer...

Many of you may have known that our 6 year old daughter is an 'aspiring writer'. Ü She doesn't leave the house without a journal or pad of paper to take notes, write stories, or in her words, "keep track of her inspirations!"

This came home from school today, and I thought you might enjoy it. I'll include the exact wording and spellings as well!

"When I Grow Up" by Ashlyn Kofford

When I grow up I'll be a famous writer.
In the morning I'll think about my story. Then in the afternoon I'll write. Finally at night I'll think abowt (about) wet (what) comes next. I'll love writing. I'll be a carit (carrot) top too.
I can't wait till I'm a grown up! I'll live in a hut in Hawaii! I'll have six Hawaiian cats with hibiscus in thar (their) fur. My hobby will be traviling (traveling) evry (every) summer. Being a grown up will be so much fun!
I'll have 3 kids named...Serena, Mary, and Mike. Thall (they'll) be so cute! Hopefully, my husband will be handsome. But if not, I'll still love him!

Gee, I already know my grandkids names, and where Ashlyn will be living with her "hopefully" handsome husband one day. Now, where will we find Kyle? My guess is China... but more on that story later!
