The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Happy at Home

My mom is home in California and thinking of you all! Now that we are not living together, I don't have the daily happenings and photos to post, but wanted to update you on her progress. She was SO happy to enjoy the wonderful luau celebrating her life! Each one of you brought her happiness, and we are so thankful for your presence on the 24th! Now she is getting settled back into a routine, and life with new doctor's, treatment plans, etc... She is trying to keep up her many activities, and participation in her varied organizations. Although is she is more tired and weak than she was previously, participating in these events brings her life meaning, so it is worth it for her to attend as many events as she chooses.

We have so many people checking in on her, bringing meals, taking her to doctor's appointments, running errands, etc...that it gives me confidence to know that she is being well looked after while she begins phase two of her treatment plan. BIG thanks to my sister in law Shellie, Annette, Ron, Nancy, and Sherry for your daily involvement in helping my mom. We couldn't do this without you, and like the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child," we also realize that it "takes a village" to care for someone battling cancer. Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
