The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Enrichment Friday this afternoon...

In a few short hours I will have 8 children here for our Halloween themed, "Enrichment Friday" class. Here's a sneak peek into what will be happening. More photos later this evening of all the kids in action! Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Friday!

Kyle will be helping me this afternoon with crafts, organizing, and a new title I have given him as, "Yard Duty Supervisor!" hee hee
The kids will be making ghost windsocks, listening to Halloween stories, completing math activities, and more...

These plain pumpkins will be used for math, writing, weighing, and will magically transform into fanatastic jack-o-lanterns! The "after" pictures will be coming later tonight! :-)

Grandma Lorraine Update:
I spoke with my mom today and she said she has been enjoying a nice day. The CNA arrived to help wtih bathing so she felt nice and squeaky clean this afternoon! :-) The Hospice nurse was stopping by so that is always a good sense of reassurance to check vital signs, etc...Unfortunately, the monitors that the caregivers use to listen for my mom at night stopped working. My mom was upset that she called and called and no one would answer her call for help last night. I assured her that we will send someone to buy a new monitor today so it wouldn't happen again. Our evening caregiver felt so badly about it as my mom said this morning that she thought everyone had left her alone. I can't even imagine what it might feel like to not be able to walk or get out of bed without assistance, and then not have anyone be able to hear a call for help. Hopefully it will all be sorted out by tonight. I'll keep you posted!

Oh what a fun day you will have. All your ideas sound so FUN! Great pics too.
I have been moved to tears by your blog, and I just had to tell you that. I will keep you and your mom in my prayers. You are strong in your trials, I can tell. God will give you the strength as you need it. You are his small daughter, sitting on his lap and laying your head on his shoulder. Rest in him.

PS How are horse lessons?

So sorry to hear about the glitch with the alert button. Stay strong in the middle of everything going on. Love you.

I am so sorry for your mom. Poor thing, bless her heart. I hope that she is able to rest today knowing that you are taking care of the monitor situation.

You all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love ya,
