The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

"Beary Scary" in Colorado! :-)

The pumpkin farm is open down the street, the neighborhoods around us have tall cornstalks growing in their fields, the trees are turning brilliant colors, and today the wind blew in a crisp feeling of fall. Here's a little sneak peak of our welcome to the new season!

The house is once again picked up, clean, and ready for fall! Our "Beary Scary" decor is cutesy more than scary, but with a 13 year old in the house, I know he would lean toward the latter! You should see the entire house, we have decor everywhere! hee hee The above is only a fraction of what was contained inside the 5 big boxes Tom brought up from the basement! (You will just have to come out for a visit to see the rest! :-)

It's been a busy week with school conferences,(everyone is doing well, whew!) guitar lessons, piano lessons, jog-a-thon training for Ashlyn, Girl Scout meetings, S'More's Girl Scout Event, riding lessons, Youth Group, work, and play! Tonight we watched the vice presidents debate, (more thoughts on that on the next blog!) We sat and watched our favorite "Survivor" show and tackled the usual dinner dishes, homework, and bedtime routine. Tomorrow is the first class of my "Enrichment Friday" group and I am really looking forward to working with all the children. You know I will post photos to keep you up to date! :-)

I speak with my mom each day, and this week she and her caregiver Gayle went out to my dad's "Air Johnson" hangar to bring home the last of his personal items. Fortunately, the gentleman using the hangar now is allowing the memorial, and my dad's special memorabilia to remain, as well as the "Air Johnson" name. I know my dad would be pleased. I will find some photos to scan of him flying his airplanes. I'd love to share them with you, as he loved being a pilot!

Grandma Billie is recovering nicely, and with my mom feeling well, it has been a good week indeed!

Usually I have the sound turned off. Today I don't. That made me laugh! I could use about a hundredth of your decorating sense.

Just stopping by and thought I'd leave a comment...hope you don't mind.

Your post caught my eye being that your from CA but recently moved to CO. That may be our situation also. We are currently looking to move to Oregon or CO but having a hard time deciding between the two. Weather is a BIG issue for us yet we want out of CA...want to experience life somewhere else. It sounds like it was a good move for your family. My parents live in Littleton and love it there.

Take care and by the way, your home looks lovely and ready for fall!
