The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Let it snow...

Ashlyn and her friend Caitlyn pose with Santa in a vintage sleigh at a beautiful historic home here in town. I "took a picture of the picture" so you could see the pretty background.

It is a beautiful and snowy morning in northern Colorado! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, both outdoors and in, so I will post photos of our Christmas decor this weekend. The house is complete but Tom still needs to get the outdoor lights up. Photos to come...

My mom enjoyed watching Gayle put up all the Christmas decorations yesterday and being able to see all her favorite ornaments was a good chance to reminisce. The Hospice nurse said that her shingles are improving, but they are still concerned about the open areas on her back. As usual, she is remaining positive and not letting cancer take away even a moment of enjoying what she can. Christmas music, the lights, the fresh tree (thank you Sharon!) are all moments she can enjoy. Thank you to the many friends in California who are so willing to fulfill any wishes to make her comfortable...whether it be a trip to the ice cream store for a malt, or bringing a TV for her bedroom when the living room one wouldn't work in the new location, to bringing apple crisp and fresh fruits, running errands, and more...your friendship means the world to us! Thank you for showing my mom the Christmas spirit all year long!

I am glad that so many are sharing their love for your mom with her by doing those special things. It is a gift to you as well since you know she is doing well!
