The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Hippidity Hoppidity Easter is coming! Show and Tell Friday!

Easter is almost here...come on in!
It will be a quiet Easter at the Koffords this year, and we wish you all a blessed day hunting for Easter eggs, enjoying Easter dinner, and remembering our risen Lord.
My talented mother in law Billie made these adorable bunnies many years ago, and we are reminded of her each year we display them!
Chicks and bunnies usher in spring...
Aren't these Easter egg candles fun? I remember the words of Erma Bombeck and burn all my candles; even the good ones! :-)
Cute bunny tassel from the talented, "Nester" at Nesting Place.
On a side note while we are doing 'show and tell', I wanted to share with you a fun project I had done with the kids last week. I have wanted to have silhouettes made of the children for years, but never had an opportunity to do so. When we were in Disney World, there was a little stand where a man sat and used only scissors and black paper to cut out uncany likenesses of people. (No tracing is used, only cutting!) I knew that in a year or so, Kyle could have a beard, ha ha so I needed to "seize the day" and have the silhouettes done while the kids still had baby faces! Remarkabley, the cost for this service was only $8! Didn't they turn out neat?

Miss Ashlyn's profile...

13 year old Kyle...
If you are interested in doing silhouettes of your children, there are websites where you mail in a photo of your child, and the sihouette is returned to you based on the photographs you send in. Our kids liked the family silhouettes where all the family members are lined up together, but Tom and I did not want our double chins portrayed, so we just stuck with the children! :-)
Have a great day, and a special weekend celebrating Easter with your family and friends!
P.S. Thank you for your concern with the outcome of my melanoma appointment...I have several atypical things that need to be removed, so I will keep you posted. Until then, "Seize the Day" and live fully! :-)

I'd say you're ready for Easter! Everything looks great! I bought a tassel from Nester too and just love it!

I have silhouettes like yours of my children also. When my son was in preschool they had an artist that came to the school to offer this...I jumped on it! I also took my daughter in to have hers done and now I've proudly hung them in my house for 18 years. They are keepsakes for sure. I treasure them!

I LOVE the silhouettes. They turned out really nicely and are very authentic.

You might want to read my running blog today. I did kind of a thing on fitness and exercise...well, what works for me anyway...since we talked about this yesterday.

I love the silhouettes! I had some done of my kids years ago. Sadly I paid way more than you did! I'll have to look for that next time we go to Disney!

Dear Sweet Denise, I hope that you had a lovely time at Disney. I've had a wild two weeks, and I thought about you a lot. Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you today and wishing you a blessed day filled with thoughts of what the Savior has done for us.

Happy Easter to you and yours...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Those are wonderful! My mom still have some from when my brothers and I were little, and did them in Sunday School using an overhead projector.
Your Easter goodies are so cute! I wanted to really decorate this year, but with the children's busy schedule, I opted for some quick things like fresh daffodils, and a few bunnies. Next year! ha!

I was surprised at how much the silhouettes really look like the kids! I wouldn't have expected such close resemblances. We have one of Tom from kindergarten, but maybe a more recent one would be nice, too. (Now with his longer hair.)
