To paint, or not to paint...that is the question!

Remember my green and black bedroom that I told you about here?
Well, while waiting for the paint to dry on our tall walls downstairs, I went shopping. I was looking for the perfect old chair with charm and quality, and the right price tag! I found it at the local flea market! Here is my $15 wicker chair all ready to be transformed!

It's "real" wicker with wooden weaves, and is a charming green color. I bought a big can of black spray paint ready to get crafty, or as the Nester says, to "junk it all up!" But then my hubby suggested leaving it green as it already matched the room and had charm the way it was. I'm no decorator, but I do know one in person whose advice I will ask...(Yes, Sofia that I told you about! You will be hearing more about her next week!) To paint or not to paint? What would you do to the old green wicker chair? :-)

It will be going in this guest room.

Denise, I think you could go either way... I like the green, but black would work, too. I'm no help! LOL!

XO,

Sheila... but I do love the chair! Great find! :-)

I'd like to see the chair closer to the bedding or drapes to see how it fits. You might be able to go either way. The chair is a good deal.......I'm impressed!

I think you could go either way...but I think black would really pull out your other accents... depends on how crafty you feel! Good Luck!

Denise, I like both but black is your accent so I feel the chair should be black, keep it green if you like but then put a black accent pillow on it.
Expressively Sofia (love it decorator)

I think you could do either....but I think the black would really pop!

Can't wait to see what you decide.

What a fantastic find! Oh Denise, I wish I could be there and we could be running around "thrifting" at antique stores, and giggling together. We would have such FUN!
I think the chair is wonderful, I'd be tempted to leave it..and just find a darling little seat pillow that sets off your room. Then you could change the look as you like..easily. Eventually, if you want to freshen things, you could than paint and "junk" it up. Enjoy it fully, first! :)

Hi Denise...

It's such a lovely room, and the chair will look great. Personally, I'd go with black to add to the accent color because there is so much green already. But I think either way, it'll look super!

I love the green color of the original but for the room I would say paint it black. It would be more dramatic. Can we go to the flea market if I come and visit?

Kim

Hmmm, I'm thinking you should go black with the chair. Can't wait to see how it all comes together!

Black spray paint is my new best friend...I say paint it. You can always put a pillow or cushion with some green on it if you think it needs color.

That chair would go perfect in the room I'm redoing!
