The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Sunsets at McIntosh Lake

The past three days I have been walking around beautiful McIntosh Lake here in Longmont. There is a pretty 3.5 mile trail to follow, and it is full of interesting things to watch along the way. From fishermen, canoes, cranes and prairie dogs, all the sites make exercising an enjoyable experience! Tonight Tom and I walked/jogged the loop together and enjoyed the pretty summer sunset over the mountains. If only I had my camera the past few days as yesterday's sunset was a brilliant red, orange and purple. It sets behind the mountains, and glistens over the water...just a gorgeous site.

All is well in the Kofford household, and everyone is keeping busy with summer well underway. The kids are busy with piano, guitar, riding, tennis, play dates and activities! Tom and I are both trying to make healthy lifestyle changes, as Tom is now on the same cholesterol lowering medication. We are eager to see results both in our blood work, and weight! It is going well, but Tom was not satisfied with tonight's dinner...let's just say I learned that organic vegan flaxseed rice cakes and multi grain smoothies are NOT to be considered side dishes! hee hee

We hope that you are all well, and enjoying the beautiful month of June! Eat healthy, and enjoy a sunset with someone special this week! With love from Colorado, Denise Ü
