The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Back in the saddle again...

After a summer off from riding, Ashlyn is back in the saddle again! (So is Kyle every other Sat. and Mom on Tuesdays!) My friend Kate offers both children and adult lessons so we have enjoyed a year's worth of activities at her farm. Ashlyn would one day like to own her own horse, and now that we have 3 acres we could make that happen! There is much to learn though, so we will be years away from that goal. Ashlyn announced to Kate today that her goal is to learn to jump...I think we better stick with learning how to trot independently first! :-) Here are a few photos of the morning lesson. We lucked out with beautiful weather. Yesterday, the sun never came out and the high was 57 degrees!
