The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Weekend Happenings...

Horseback riding lessons in preparation for next weekend's Horse Show at Briar Gate Farm.

Ashlyn warming up on the lead line riding, "Chummie." Grooming is fun!

Another spray painting project...lawn chairs and exterior light fixtures...we are adding black accents to the exterior paint so I thought the old lawn furniture needed a face lift!

I'll show you the after photos tomorrow when everything is dry and back in place... I found some new chair pads that I will put on when everything is dry...we've had these for years!

Whew, these are in desperate need of a face lift!

The Girl Scout Tea...mmmm....cucumber sandwiches and cookies! A furry friend gets to join the fun! :-)

Picture framing...old photos, memories, and memorabilia will adorn this wall heading down to the basement. I'm doing simple black frames with cream mattes for an elegant look. I just love the look of black against tan and I think if the frames are uniform it will tie both old and new photos together!
I'm going to put our wedding photo in the center of the wall and have my parents and Tom's parents wedding photos branching off. Then we'll add grandparents, great grandparents, and family members from both sides of our families!
Inexpensive Wal-Mart frames that when filled with photos, will come to life! "After" photos to come...we're waiting on some special pictures that still need to be developed.
We've got our work cut out for us the rest of the weekend....

What are your plans? I like to hear what you are doing; not to be nosy, but just because it's just fun to know what everyone is up to!

With love from Colorado, Denise :-)

Hey Denise. We had a good day here in FL. Kevin and the kids got out and did @ 2 hours of yard work, but 4 sets of hands working on it got it mowed/edged and trimmed, and some leaves raked up in the back. Leaves falling in FL isn't the same as up north, but we have some oak trees that shade too much out back...ugh. We had them trimmed a couple of months ago, so better now. I picked up subs for everyone for lunch, I had a salad. We got the oil changed on kevin's car and new brakes.....so there went some $$...ugh. Then @ 4:30 we headed to a large mall in Orlando and we had the kids choose some spring/summer clothes, just a few things to spruce things up. They all shopped sales, thank you kids, and did very well. We had dinner at Ruby Tuesday, and I got a new book and some much needed mascara...I love this brand I can only get online or at Sephora, but it's the best!
Tomorrow is Mass and a church picnic......Father Chris is even getting in the dunking booth!

LOVE the family photo idea!
Sounds precious, can't wait to see the finished product!
My summer goal is to finish my daughter's room that we started last summer... and declutter my son's nursery... now if only I could get motivated, summer break starts for us Tuesday!

Wow! Sounds like you are having a wonderfully productive weekend. I can't wait to see the finished product of the family photo frames and the patio furniture. I am busy this weekend with my spring cleaning. Today I will be heading to church, and then tonight I'm going to a good old fashioned slumber party with my girlfriends!

Hey Denise, Thanks for visiting. The bakers rack is for Diana. Laura is coming home in June and she is back in dorm style rooms. Those are alot of frames to fill. Of course, the idea is great. Talk to you soon!.

We had an extra long weekend here in Ca. with an extra day off today! Only 1 more Monday until school is over. We were busy with Preston marching in the parade, worship teams at church, laundry, errands and incredibly hot temps! Aleah moved officially today as well so that has been emotional.

Your activities looked productive and fun! Keep it up!

LYLAS!
