The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Painting in Progress...

The exterior of our house is being painted, and these are some photos of the work in progress. It has been an eventful week...5 men, 4 peeks through the window, 3 ladders I must walk under just to leave each day, 2 cases of beer to show appreciation, and 1 fall with no injuries!
Before the work begun...at last..the aspens have leaves and spring is here!
The back view...you can't see the basement window wells below the ground but this last level makes me paranoid someone is going to fall in!
The mess...

I told Ashlyn to clean her room as workers are peering in throughout the day...the thought of a peeping tom painter seeing her messy room is mortifying to her! (If only the thought of mom seeing a messy room could get the kids working!) :-)

I cleaned closets today while the workers were here...now if only the games would stay neatly stacked. My guess is by next weekend, half of those boxes will be scattered! :-) (Ashlyn likes to play games with her stuffed animals, so I often see full board games with animals "holding" game pieces!)

The pantry neat and tidy once again...it's always amazing what treasures lurk in the back of the shelves...broken crackers and chips, Halloween candy, Christmas sprinkles, and more toothpicks than we can use in a lifetime! The holidays all passed before my eyes in one trip to the trash can!

A beautiful day looking west toward the mountains...the mountains are hidden behind the clouds, but will reappear just as quickly as the clouds came in! Wishing you all a wonderful Friday and a spring filled weekend! :-)

Hey lady!! Great fun with the pictures around your home. I love your home, it's looks just like that " a home". Ashlyn's room is so neat........oh my friend, I hope she stays that way through her teen years, but don't hold your breath! Too cute that she plays games with her stuffed animals, you need a picture of that to show your grandchildren someday!
My pantry needs a good clean out........why am I holding on to that stuff?? You are brave to take and post a picture.....I noticed you didn't do a before and after...LOL. Spring has arrived in CO it appears......and lovely!
It's good to see you blogging, I've missed you so!

Good Morning! Your home is lovely...My pantry needs a good cleaning... but it is downstairs...dumb I know...so most times I just ignore it! On summer break I usually do my inventory and dump lots of weird things...

Is your exterior of your house staying the same color?

ha ha, the holidays passed before your eyes! I know what you mean, actually...in my own cupboards! Your house is so beautiful, the new paint will be awesome I bet. Tell Ashlyn her room is looking gooood. Hee hee.
If my girls were there, they would make short work of all those neatly stacked games too...they seem to make a game of seeing how off balance the games can be, how crooked, and how many can fall at once when you reach for just one. That might be the game!
Aloha my friend!

LOL! Denise, that is a scream! :-D

When I had the painters for nearly two months on a Victorian house, I told Mr. Magpie that I didn't know what it was about painters (unlike carpenters) that just drove me to distraction. He said they are a lot like pirates. They hang from ladders (going up and down), peering into windows, and are given to strong drink! LOL! ;-) I actually loved mine and had parties for them... but no string drink... just BBQ!

XO,

Sheila:-)

Make that "strong" and not "string," and no, I have not been into the former. LOL!

Hi Denise,
I was so excited to read your post on my blog and see that you stopped by! The pictures on your the blog are wonderful. I too, met my husband in high school and literally laughed out loud (lol as the kids say!) at how cute your prom picture was. Vinny and I have been madly in love since 1985 and I love meeting other people who share our belief in long term love!
Thank you for your interest in my book. A friend once told me if I had wisdom to share that I thought might be beneficial to others it would be irresponsible not to share it-and so I am writing.
I'll keep stoppin' by the Koffords!
Have a great weekend, me-I'm going' to see Jesus on Sunday!
Blessings, Denise. So cool to hear back from you!!

Hello Denise! Great picures, must be that new camera! Loved seeing your cleaned closets, I have been putting off that very chore! How do they become so messy? I am really looking forward to seeing you next month! Hope it is not too hot, and we will for sure sit on the patio, sweaty glasses of iced tea in hand!

Beeeautiful home, Denise. I'm not one bit surprised!! I wish my pantry looked that clean! It's a disaster, I'm afraid to say. haha I'm headed out to finish up the yard in case the Senior Ballers decide to take pix here... it's tomorrow and they have NO idea what they are doing. I worked hard in the yard to get it pretty just in case. :-)

Have a fabulous evening!!
xoxo
