The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

The finished paint job!

Whew, after 9 days, there are no men peering in my windows, and the exterior paint job is finished! The painter said that the paint will last years longer when it is hand rolled vs. sprayed. This process took 4-5 men over a week to complete. What a big job, but worth the wait as the house needed a color makeover!

Before...

After...The back view of the house...

Before...
After... Remember my spray paint project to change the look of our light fixtures without buying new ones? Here is one of the finished fixtures lining the driveway...

More spray painted light fixtures on the garage...

Before...The table and chairs with green paint and faded chair pads...
After...
We spray painted the chairs black and I put new chair pads on, but the table is still waiting for a facelift. It's a wonder what a can of spray paint can do! :-)

Before...

After...I thought that some decorative shutters would add to the front of the house so those were added on. It's been fun watching the transformation!

Lastly a little product plug... I made an impulse buy at Costco today and what a find for $9.99! It's a frozen Yoplait smoothie mix with three kinds of berries and only 70 calories! Oh my goodness, the kids and I absolutely loved them! There are 5 frozen packets for a total of 10 servings. There are only 70 calories per packet, 3 kinds of fruit, and you mix it all in the blender with a cup of milk. It was so delicious that I wanted to share this great find...

Tomorrow is the last day of school for our kiddo's, so the countdown is on! I'll be stopping by your blogs soon; I've got lots to catch up on in your lives! Thanks for sharing your tooth stories too! I smiled reading about Anita's kids using them for the science project; what a good use of old teeth! :-)

Your house looks great! Isn't it amazing what new paint color will do. Our house needs painting too but we'll wait until Oct. or so. It's starting to get to hot already.

I love that you spray painted the fixtures and chairs. I tell you, since I started blogging, spray paint has become my new BFF!

House looks great!!!!

Nothing like a few cans of spray paint to spruce up some things around the house. Spray paint and my power washer make me happy!!!

House looks wonderful!! What beautiful property you have!! I was in Costco the other day and saw this but didn't read the bag, I just assumed it would have alot of sugar, calories, etc.. Now I'll have to go back for more. I read about who received the scholarships on your other blog. I'm so impressed. I'm going to ask my Aunt if she know any of the teachers she teaches 1st grade in Tehama County.

Very nice!!! You're helping to give me motivation to finish my daughter's room!
Oh, and about the teeth... how in the world did she keep them from rotting like mine did? My mom had to throw them away, they were in a prescription bottle. I don't want my kids teeth to do the same thing.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, it was fabulous, one of the best I've had in a while!

I'm with Faith, the shutters look fab, as well as the rest of the cosmetic touches! Les went and bought our paint today for our exterior makeover. He got a super great price so I told him he gets the "deal of the day" award from me!
I'm sure that just made his heart sing :-)

Looking forward to seeing you in 10 days or so!

The new exterior color really looks nice, and the shutters "pop"! Great selection! How fun, the horse show. Ashlyn should still be proud of herself! =) ...and on another note, I love the bell-chime tradition. How lovely! Hope you're all enjoying the weekend together!

The house looks amazing!! I'd almost want to stand outside and just stare at it! I'm glad your painters were so good and told you of the differences between spraying and rolling. We had it sprayed on and it hasn't lasted at all. Bummer... because it's so expensive!!

Enjoy your beauty... inside and out! ;-)

Your house looks great. I am so jealous of all your land! We would love to have an acre or so to "breathe".

Hi Denise! The house turned out great! I hope you are happy with it, I know you were worried about the paint being too light. I'll have to look for the smoothie, my kids are always asking to make them!
