The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Day 2...life changes and a trip home

DAY 2: Maintain a small calendar for keeping track of exercise, healthy living, etc...there is nothing like seeing a calendar with blank pages filling up with record of your positive healthy changes! Keep track of your daily exercise or goal and what you have accomplished!

Sleepily I spiraled down theses stairs to the basement...it was tough this morning...but I did it, and I did it willingly!

Thank you friends for taking the time to comment yesterday...I didn't want you to feel obligated, but I am so glad you found something useful in committing to 3 weeks of positive change! Lou Ann your snail mail is stamped and going out today! If anyone else desires some "love mail," just send me your address and I will send some motivation your way! :-)

A few of you said it was tough to get motivated to even start. I hear you. I will be featuring a motivated goal oriented athlete that I know soon. She says it best and I will introduce you to her. Until then, if you aren't motivated to begin today, here's the best advice I can give you. Just do it! If you feel you can't...Take a nap! No guilt, no to-do- list pressure, just a good dose of sleep to rejeuvenate your body and soul. I think often times we are exhausted, and not realize that our lack of "get up and go" is lack of sleep. Try getting a good night's sleep and take a nap...tomorrow is another day!

I got up at 5 a.m. on Thurs. and "just did it!" I walked/jogged 2.5 miles and did some crunches, push ups, and lunges. It was early and I was dragging myself to the basement, but for me if I don't do it early, the rest of the day just takes over and I don't make exercising a priority. What did you do today that was one step closer to your goal? Oh do tell! You will motivate us in the process! :-)

I am leaving in about a half hour to catch an early flight out to California. I begin the process of cleaning out my parents beautiful home. It will feel odd going through their personal things...reading old letters and looking at all their cherished memories. They won't ever be coming home again, and that thought still takes a lot of getting used to. Amidst the sadness of packing up a lifetime of their memories, my exercise clothes are packed and my faithful running shoes are ready, because life goes on...one step at a time.

What will you do today, that takes you one step closer to your goal? :-)

Good luck you on your trip. That must be such a hard trip to make. AND you're trying to start an exercise routine? Wow! You are amazing :) Take care.

Best for your trip, Denise. Will be thinking of you and hoping all goes well. I'm proud of you about your excercise program. I am going to take your advice and get a nap. I find I can do a lot more when I feel rested. My goals are to get reports finished and a ton of things put away as well as returned to their owners.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Thinking of you and sending loving thoughts for your weekend. I am proud of you for "just doing it". It's not always that easy, but girl... you are doing it!

As for me, I got some exercise bands today. I'm going to shake it up a bit. :-)

Much love,
Sue

My prayers go with you, dear friend.

I did not work out today, but I did work with my horses and that is always quite a bit of exercise. Taking Mukluk to the petting zoo wore me out, so I must have done something. Phew.

I will be thinking about you on your trip. You are not alone, our Father wants to pick up up and keep you close. Lean on him, let him carry any burdens.

Good for you! I am trying to be more active in everyday life- rather than actually working out- I want to up my activity level in other ways so it will come naturally. We will see. I love this idea though. I will be checking back to see your progress!

Maybe you can take a break from your parent's house and get a treat from In-N-Out? Good luck in CA.

Ok so you know I walk 4 miles a day. Of course I don't get up at 5 am to do it and I do admire you for doing that. Especially since I know you are not a early riser. Best Wishes at home I will pray for you. Love you

Good for you. Sometimes it is so hard to get motivated.

I hope your trip goes smoothly. I can only imagine how hard that is.
