The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

Fifth of July Update

Good Morning Friends! How was your Fouth of July festivities yesterday? I hope all our readers had a wonderful day filled with fun. We ended up with 19 partiers and had a great evening! Unfortunately, with cooking, serving, visiting, etc...I managed only a few photos. We had a great day, and everythng went well except for two major flaws in the house! We realized our AC wasn't working properly when it was 98 degrees outside and 93 degrees inside! So, EVERYONE ate outside under a few shade trees! Then our front door handle was acting up and wouldn't open...with many folks trying to get inside for the bathroom...kids coming and going...the door was a HUGE hinderance. Other than that, the food was great, the kids had fun playing badminton, football, making water balloons, and using the swing set as a fort for their escapades. We set off fireworks in the court, and after a fun filled evening, the house was hot and empty at 11:30 p.m. Sleeping in the hot bedrooms, did not sound so appealing...we should have taken sleeping bags outside and stayed underneath the shade trees! Glad you had a great 4th of July with all your guests--minus th air conditioning not working. I can empathize since mine went out recently. After 4 different themastats all is well and hopefully will stay that way since we're in for 100, 102, and 104º temps. Hope your AC is an easy fix and not too expensive. Also, your door. It was quiet here on the 4th since they cancelled all fireworks displays because of all the fires. There were some booths selling them but I don't know how successful they were. Take care, Love, Mom
