Today Ashlyn's school hosted a "Jog-A-Thon" fundraiser and it was a great event! The kids had fun running laps and earning money for their school. Ashlyn proudly ran 14 laps and loved the feeling of being in a 'real' race with official race bibs, water bottles, music and a DJ! Here's some photos of the big event, run in 45 degree weather today! (Our first light dusting of snow is expected on Sunday!)
Peeking in on the class before the run. The 2nd graders are working hard!
Ready to run...
And they're off...
Running strongly...
Ready for a water break...
Ashlyn and Erin celebrate the end of the half hour run. The goal was to run as many laps as you could in 30 min. by grade level. The top 2nd grader ran 21 laps! Wow!

Next event tonight...the school Fall Carnival! You can find us at the "Cookie Monster" game. We'll be working a booth for a shift. It should be a fun night of music, games, dinner, silent auction, and FUN!

Aww, the jog-a-thon... I remember back when the girls did that. How fun! Great job Ashlyn!! Have a great time tonight!!
Dear Denise! I just tonight found your post on my blog. I think that it was very nice of you. Your encouragment & understanding helped tonight. Emma is my 4th child & I just dont remember the other 3 quite reacting this way. I feel so sorry for her & have to finally admit that I am tired! It helps hearing from others! I too have lurked & have been afraid to comment to you so I am glad that you broke the ice! TY! Now we can be blog friends.
I remember the days of school fall carnivals. Such fun! It was cold here as well today. I can't believe you will be getting snow soon!
Can't wait to hear more details about all the fun weekend! Very nice picture of you that Ashlyn took, btw!

Fun! Brrr! Of course, it could be 80 degrees there next week. You SO don't look like a grandma.
