The Kofford Family relocates to Colorado after 40 years as Californians. In December of 2007, Grandma Lorraine is diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, she passed away on Dec. 26th, 2008 after a year long courageous battle. Follow our journey as we keep Lorraine's memory alive, and as we learn to appreciate that each day we are given, is a gift to be enjoyed!

A Day at the Denver Zoo

Ashlyn has an upcoming assignment due on gorillas, so we decided to visit the Denver Zoo and see them up close and personal. We got a lot of good photos for her to add to her report, and we enjoyed a nice day out. The weather started out great, but by the time we ended the afternoon with weary legs, it was snowing. Just as everyone says regarding Colorado weather, you never know what you're going to get hour by hour. Luckily the leopards, lions, and gorillas all stayed outside to see us!

Sure looks like a fun day at the zoo. The animals look like they're having fun, I love your new play structure. You're going to have a lot of fun climbing on it. I hope Tom can get it anchored down before the Chinook winds whip through. I love your daffodils too. Last week my neighbor brought me some that she had grown in her yard. Today when we went to Ron and Billie's we saw fields of golden California poppies. They were beautiful, however with this warm weather things are beginning to turn brown. The regular watering needs to start. It's still warm and beautiful. Love, Mom
